Looking for a place that sells bags of crawfish!

I can speak to oysters by the bushel. AAF would be the epicenter, stay in Mexico Beach if possible. VPS would be a second choice, but Panama City is a shorter drive by an hour or more.

For crawfish, I’d be going somewhere in LA, but I don’t know if they’re in season or not. Seems a couple months to boiling season.

Plenty of crawfish options in south Louisiana. Prices are really high at this time. Farmers are getting $4.50/lb at the field. Probably about $7.00+ per lb retail by the 30-35lb sack. KOPL, KIYA are easy in/out that have sellers in the vicinity of the airport. Depending on when you want them, I could help you set it up. I’m based at IYA. D&T crawfish is a block away from IYA. They sell live by the sack.

Back in 1999 I ordered a sack & a half of live crawfish, about 50 lbs. It arrived on my doorstep in Indiana by FedEx Saturday delivery. It was in a waxed box with thin styrofoam inserts on all sides and gel-packs. We counted 3 straight-tails (supposedly DOA). Fruge Aquafarms, if they’re still around. I’m guessing others do that too. Might save you some fuel, but not as cool a story or fun.

Fruge’s is still very much in business. More of a seafood broker/wholesaler with online presence. Definitely more fun to pick them up yourself. ;)

Trying to imagine the smell of avgas, old sweat, and crawfish juice in the plane on a hot summer day.

Nah….the crawfish won’t be an odor issue with the usual ventilation flow of a non-pressurized aircraft. I’ve hauled plenty of sacks inside vehicles in my 62yrs in Cajunland and the odor is minimal to non existent. Now, if they are field run and the fisherman left a chunk of pogie bait in the bunch, all bets are off. :p

Was looking to put them in my pond for more forage for the bass. Illegal in Illinois to transport live crawfish.
