Pre-Flight
Hi all, looking for someone in/around DTW area who wants to go to the AOPA fly-in at FDK Oct 4. Arrive Fri, stay overnight, fly out Sat. I've asked all the pilots I know, they're either busy or not interested in going to this one (some have already been to Indy). I'd like to split the cost with the other pilot - I PIC one way, you go the other. This would be my first AOPA fly-in, and I love the hills country (so I'd rather go to FDK than IND). I'm taking my club's PA-28-181 (Archer II): steam gauges, 430 WAAS, Stratus II, nice interior. I estimate 6 hrs round-trip at $95/hr wet (not a bad rate!).
Some info on me: ~800 hours, commercial single, high perf & complex, instrument, in the middle of multi training, and goal is be CFI before year end. Wings of Mercy PIC & formerly mission pilot with CAP for 5 years (annual checkrides with USAF-style CRM). So by now I'm pretty good with CRM, ADM, & risk mgmt.
