Just plain wrong to leave a backseat of an F-18 empty!:D

I agree. I often see F-18s at KLNK (Lincoln, NE) on the GA ramp with the NJ on the tail. I noticed a single pilot last time one was here but I didn't think much of it at the time.

Well VFA-122 is a replacement air group like the east coast VFA-106 equivalent. It's understandable to have a student cross country with a single pilot in a dual seat F-18 B or F aircraft.

An air show demo though, never seen that unless they brought only one aircraft and the backseater (WSO) is doing the announcing. Usually they bring two in case one breaks.

@Lowflynjack -I couldn't get a slow enough shutter speed to get prop blur on the next two since he shut off his engine for this act:

Matt Younkin and Kent Pietsch - two of my all-time favorites. Much more fun to watch than high-horsepower "modern" aerobatics.

I'll take the high road though. Blackhawks are pretty... And I'll wait for you, whenever you decide to show up, with the gas you desperately need to do whatever it is you guys do.

And then, when it's all over, I'll bring you home in style!
