Sometime in the past one of my clients was telling me about a Lobster Fest on the eastern coast. Any one know Where?? I believe it was either Maryland or Maine I was told it was in the fall. Looking to plan a trip.

Rockland, Maine; the annual Maine Lobster Festival is a big event. However, you'd better make a quick decision because I think it's during the coming weekend. I'll be back in a moment with a Link.

Yup; it starts today, Aug. 3 until Sunday, always the first weekend in August. Nice airport at Owl's Head (RKD, where the Owl's Head Transportation Museum http://www.ohtm.org is located. Rockland has the world's largest lobster cooker which will be in action during the festival.

I grew up a dozen miles away from Rockland, was graduated from Rockland High School. Just Google Maine Lobster Festival? and you'll find plenty of information. At this late planning date finding hotel/motel accomodations would be very difficult. My uncle owns two motels(The Country Inn(Rockport) and The Cedar Crest(Camden), and both have been sold out for the weekend since back in January.

There is additional information in your e-mail; but for others who may be interested in this near 6 decade old annual tradition here's another Link:

My former wife and I were two of the 15,000 people who were there on Thursday. We went by Maine Eastern Railroad(new train service) from Brunswick to Rockland. Interesting; we were sitting with a fellow from Atlantic City. During the 2.5 hour trip I extemporaneously gave him information about many of the places through which we were passing. When we got to Rockland he said to the conductor, "You ought to hire this man as a tour guide."

Any and all of y'all who venture to Maine, be sure to let me know so that we can make contact.
