Three years ago my "little" brother (42 yrs old) had a wife and 4 boys. The wife got in trouble with drugs and was caught cheating. She was eventually arrested and did jail time. Several times. On one of the times she was out, she went to my brothers house and threw a fit, and a cell phone at him. My brother called the cops, who came out and arrested HIM. So he has an assault charge on his records.

He eventually got a divorce after a really nasty custody battle, and HE got custody of all four boys. She got arrested again, but he still had the assault charge.

Then he got laid off of his job of 20 years and hasn't worked since although he never quit looking. The assault charge was part of the reason.

Today, he got a job in the automotive section of a Walmart.
I will never say a bad thing about Walmart again. At least for a few weeks. I was happy that I was able to support him and the boys, but I am even happier now that I don't have to. At least as much for a while.

And the moral of this story is:

Never - ever, in a million years CALL THE COPS.

Congrats, glad he's on his feet.

A charge but no court resolution or conviction?
Should have gotten that killed during the divorce process.

He thought he did. He had several job interviews since then that were promising, but they would suddenly drop him. Then when he interviewed for a job with the school transportation department, they told him it was on his record and that why they couldn't hire him. He got another lawyer, paid another $3,500 (of my money) and finally got it removed. That was about 5 months ago.
