And AOPA is working on some additional material for the doctors that helps to explain some of the items from FAA dialect into normal human terms.
One additional item I just learned about... Per the recent AOPA webinar, the program now allows PA's and other "physician extenders" to conduct the examination as long as the supervising state licensed doctor signs the exam.
And I'm still wondering why the Basic Med designers thought that item #9 under 7.2.2. needed to be there.
