Sitting on my covered deck, sucking on a beer, listening to the ballgame on the radio, remembering a particulaly nice flight, watching the rain coming down, thinking about pork butt for dinner, and not mowing the lawn.

Good stuff.

That was me this morning (except for coffee, not beer). See the pic of the day I posted. It was so pretty this morning I snuck out of the house and flew to breakfast. Where's the rain coming down?

It's coming straight down, no wind. Was light sprinkles, then a couple minutes ago changed to rain.

This is a nice rain. We had some heavy stuff about 5am, this is the nice gentle kind.

Cleaned up the lake house this morning, had a big omelette. Finished by 10:30, and did some exercize to get the heart rate up a bit. Invited my buddy and his GF over for a little pool swim, beer, grilled pork steaks, and told lies for a while. Now watching the final holes of the PGA.

Maybe go fly in the morning to Houston. Life is pretty darn good.

I just got back to my "home" in bethel after a weekend of fishing for silver salmon. I've got about 30 pounds of filets in the freezer now. The boys will eat well tonight.

I got a pass to go out and do some pattern work.
Big storm to the west but safe to fly.

Did about 10-12 TnGs in the black of night with non stop lightning off the downwind leg. It was so freaking beautiful.

Waiting for the storm to arrive.

You're a newlywed. Life can not be not good.

That part is fine, although the move in and combining of households isn't. Just very swamped at work, have my peer review coming up, may or may not be teaching this fall, and this whole Checkride thing has been a major cluster f**k. I'll disclose what happened subsequent to the ride after I get it done. I'm just very ticked off and frustrated.
