I had to buy a few gallons of gas and submit the receipt.

I like that idea. It serves two purposes. One to verify that you were there. Two to demonstrate that you can manage getting fuel. Not a hard task in my opinion but some folks seem to struggle with it. I think if I were to ever become a CFI, I’d require it.

Getting fuel was something I never did during my private training. I have successfully done both full & self serve fueling since, but it is a good thing to include.

That's just some of the various sauce versions. They seem to know how to smoke it pretty good here. And I frequently go without sauce if it's done right.
