Ugh, why should that even make the news? My gear is stuck out all the time. Better call News Team 8.

LOL!

BIG UPDATE!!!! Plane lands safely.

News reporter "We didn't see any flames, thats always good."
other reporter "He's using the nosewheel to turn the plane."

MORE film at 11. Sigh.

The public has a right to know the most important information about this drama:

a. How old was the airplane?

b. Was it on a flight plan?

c. How many crashes has this make/model or operator had?

*Bands head on table first before laughing* At least the media reported something correct about aviation now. :hairraise:

Jason

P.S. I'd be interested to talk with him and ask how a plane normally turns..

Well that makes for breaking news.

That happened to me when I was doing my complex endorsement in an Arrow at KVAY. I went to retract the gear and nothing happened.

That gets a little spooky -- you know that there's something wrong, and you find yourself wondering if the three greens are for real or not.

The CFI I was with elected to do a low fly by and ask ground personnel to try to see if the gear looked like it was locked down. It ended in a normal landing, but it sure made me wonder about what kind of job the maintenance people were doing because the plane had just come otut of the shop with a gear problem.

Thank goodnes, those gear down landings can be really tricky. we are all just lucky that the plane did not explode and take all of St. Louis with it, WHEW!!

It just goes to show you how safe aviation really is, any little thing is a big news report. Think if the news reported everytime someone got a flat in a car.
