How do you lean for takeoff at an airport which has a 6000' elevation when you are flying a plane with a constant speed propeller? Thanks. -- Mike

I may be setting myself up for a "D'oh!" moment, but I believe that you still lean for best WOT static RPM; at static runup, with the prop full-forward, you should not be seeing any governor action anyhow.

Slings, arrows: range in and fire...

That should work as long as the engine doesn't reach max RPM during the static runnup.

If you have an EGT gauge, you can set the mixture 100-120 ROP. Above 5000 DA leaning the engine to peak EGT briefly shouldn't hurt anything (watch the CHT).
