So I'm not going to have too much of a long story here. About 5 years ago or maybe a little less I noticed I was feeling very sluggish. Couldn't pay attention very well and pretty irritable. I thought maybe this could be adhd or add. So I went to a mental health clinic. I first started wellbutrin the practioner thinking it could be depression which I've never felt depressed but thought it might help So I'll give it a try. We'll it didn't help, next I tried another drug for adhd can't recall the name maybe Strattera. It didn't help so finally we tried adderall and took it for about 2 months and that didn't help so I pretty much gave up after that and just lived with it for a few years. Well recently I talked to a friend about it and he mentioned he had all the samethings happening and that he had low t. So I made an appointment with a low t clinic and low and behold I have low t. T levels were about 112 when I should be in the 600 range. I've been on trt for the last 6 months and feel like I've been given a new lease on life. All the problems I was going to the mental health clinic are gone. Now the real problem arises. Now that I know what the problem was I was wondering what I might be able to do for a misdiagnosis. The nurse practioner isn't in that location anymore and I can't recall her name. Is there anyone that knows of some options?

Where’s the aviation connection here, even loosely?

And “now the real problem arises”?!? Sounds like you’re on the mend (no - “mended”) but the “real problem” is trying to see if you have a lawsuit? I’m confused.

You can't get a medical if you've taken adderall in the past.

Not sure if this is working but the problem is having taken adderall I can't get cleared for a medical 3 unless it's a misdiagnosis.

You need to find a doctor who can make a diagnosis rather than poking at your body with a stick. Nurse practitioners had no freaking business prescribing psychoactive drugs on a "let's see if this does anything" basis. Even a GP/FP/Internist shouldn't be doing that. I'd be talking to a good medi-mal lawyer. You're screwed aviation wise in the interim.

Just curious: are you saying GP/FP/Internists shouldn't be prescribing "psychoactive drugs" or that they shouldn't be prescribing drugs on a "'let's see if this does anything' basis"? If the latter, I'd say ANY medical specialist shouldn't do that without sound medical reason to believe it'll help the patient. If the former, as an FP trained to prescribe everything the OP listed, I'd respectfully disagree. And back to the latter, there are many times pretty much any specialist will prescribe something - medicine or other treatment - under what you'd probably label as the "'let's see if this does anything' basis". That by no means makes it "medi-mal".

It's been said here before, but the Medxpress form doesn't ask anything about drugs you've taken in the past. If you had a diagnosis that you know of, you'll need to disclose that, and you may be asked for related medical records. And you'll need to disclose all visits to medical professionals in the past three years.

Yeah I'm going for my sport pilot as we speak. It would be nice to get instrument but that won't be possible. Just sucks, especially if you fail your med you can't get your sport afterwards.
