I think she's spent a bit too much time in the aft of the aircraft, where the pressurization is less. :)
 
I didn't see the one in question, but FB is a well-known idiot. Good for laughs, but unfortunately there are people who consider her to be the Oracle.

The air you are breathing on an airplane is recycled from directly outside of your window. That means you are breathing everything that the airplanes gives off and is flying through. The air that is pumped in isn’t pure oxygen either, it’s mixed with nitrogen, sometimes almost at 50%. To pump a greater amount of oxygen in costs money in terms of fuel and the airlines know this!

Things must have changed mightily when I was a kid. Used to be wisdom coming from an attractive young female was always taken with a grain of salt. Misogynistic to be certain, but that's how it was.

Airliners aren't the healthiest places in the world, though not for the reasons that nitwit babe outlines. You are pressurized to 8K feet, which is thin air for most of us. Thin dry air, which poses a challenge to our bodies and immune systems. And like or not someone near you is sick, since they couldn't just change the date on their tickets without selling their firstborn. So exposed to illness during a stressful period. Not healthy.
 
You are traveling in a pressurized cabin, and when your body is pressurized, it gets really compressed! Compression leads to all sorts of issues. First off your body’s digestive organs start to shrink, taxing your ability to digest large quantities of food.

It's too bad 90% of that is written so poorly and is full of incorrect statements. The core of how to keep healthy on the plane is pretty solid: drink lots of water, eat healthy food, and get lots of exercise.

Granted, that should be true for daily life anyway.

Such is a populist government....

This is exactly why them Ynterwebs should have never been opened up to clueless idiots like this. When the global net started (I was in school), it was a great resource for finding information for papers and studies. Now it has morphed into a bottomless abyss of porn and misinformation. Yay!

It seems that just about everyone with a physical appearance, maturity level, or intellect greater than that possessed by a 15 year old has evacuated DC over the past 6+ years. And the situation wasn't great to begin with.

Never heard of Food Babe before, but people generally like people who validate their own opinions and behaviors, regardless of the wisdom within those opinions and behaviors.

Wow....apparently this lady has been around for a while??? I'll never understand why we continue to listen to the junk these idiots report. Its no better on CBS or NBC or whatever we watch. I stopped watching the local news here because they were giving such inaccurate information ALL THE TIME....irritating that people like this one are influencing peoples opinions...

I listen to a podcast called "Skeptic's Guide to the Universe".

In it, they discussed a study of the accuracy of Dr. Oz's recommendations.

In part:
