Hey, Steve!
I saw this outside the office just now and had to take a picture. The whole sky had either a rippling wave look, or large, constantly-swirling patterns.

I wouldn't want to be cruising though it.

Very cool!

Any ideas what were the contributing conditions that created that affect?

Today's local METARS, note the temperature drop from 28C to 21C and pressure from 29.92 up to 30.00 and then a drop to 29.77
Edit: Yesterday the area's highest reported temperature was 41C, looks like there were many pireps of turbulence ranging from moderate to extreme

I've got one like that - took it at Diana & Tom's farm.

Here it is...

Wow! That's worth having framed!

It is very clear to me that the blue ball is having some kind of affect on the clouds and causing the formation.

The second picture is definitely showing a wave... never seen that with a blanket of mammatus, though. Cool.

It's the vortex eminating from Diana's handbag (the black hole). The blue ball is a diversionary orb.

Yes, I am not sure exactly how the physics would work with a portable black hole, but I am sure that explains everything.
