Lance Amstrong and Alberto Contador

Contador and Lance rode on the same team in 2009 and they hated each other. This may get pretty interesting.

Yes they did. Justifiably, since Contador challenged the team leader in front of the world.

My guess is Lance will hold his comments in check as he has become a statesman with bigger fish to fry than little ole Alberto...

I was actually thinking in the other direction: contador is pretty darn wounded right now.

I think I saw Contador on a daytime talk show the other day stating quite clearly that he witnessed Armstrong using prohibited substances multiple times although I think this was supposedly during training rather than race time.

Seriously, who cares what substances pro athletes put in their bodies.

I agree. If he plays his cards right now he will be a well paid spokesman for cycling (and other sponsorships) for decades to come. Lance Armstrong is truly one of the best athletes to have lived. I am very glad he has been cleared of federal charges. :yesnod:

I saw Lance in the 2009 Tour - two days in a row (including Paris). Naturally both times were pretty brief although I got some good snaps! (Contador too for that matter).

I have tremendous respect for the guy and hope this all gets completely dropped.

His domination of cycling will go down as one of the greatest sports records of all time, and now, apparently, almost unblemished.

Hopefully the Anti-Doping Agency won't add a "blemish".

"The US Anti-Doping Agency, with the support of the World Anti-Doping Agency, is continuing a separate investigation of Armstrong under its rules."

It sure took them long enough. I'm just glad it's over. Lance can go on with his life.
