Interesting blog, 46 years on the bench, FAA certified and FCC licensed, currently at about 900 repairs a year, guessing over the last 30 years 155(A)/165(A)’s have been my biggest time consumers. I’m asked all the time for “uncertified” repairs, sure am glad I don’t have to do log entries, as that is the gotcha.

I had good luck with Pacific Coast Avionics up in Oregon on 2 different KX-155’s - seem to have good parts supplies and fast turn around with all the paperwork.

Ditto. He can't work other than minor external stuff on the modern radios, but the old King stuff he's a pro at. Sat with him doing transponder/alitmeter checks and learned all the details a few years back.
