KSAN Shutdown by Drone

Happening now, KSAN is shut down by unknown drone operations. There was a sheriff's department helicopter tracking it. The original drone departed and was replaced by another one. The helicopter followed the first one but had to go back to KSEE for fuel.

Added by family member on an outbound flight:
"I saw it come up From Point Loma and hover over the climbing path

I told one of the clerks and she called operations"

San Diego ground control mentioned on frequency that one drone was destroyed over North Island. Interesting.

Doesn’t surprise me. Years ago while walking at Liberty Station area (east side of Point Loma) some clueless guy launched his drone right underneath the departure path. However, I don’t think he was as brazen as this particular operator.

It would be rather difficult to "monetize" that content on YT or another platform without getting caught. So hopefully they'll try, and get caught.
