Works with a volleyball serve as well, except in that case the unaided human eye can see it wobble. :yesnod:

I've thrown a few knuckleballs like that in softball as well. Helps more when there's a wind blowing out to center.

I threw some in baseball in high school. I should have thrown more breaking balls and fewer fastballs. Maybe I wouldn't have messed up my shoulder by the time I was 18. That happens a lot to short-ish guys who try to throw heat, I've learned since then.

I used to play slow pitch softball with a guy who could underhand fast-pitch a softball knuckleball. He'd whip one at me now and then when we were warming up.

I read an interview with, I think, Charlie Hough or one of the Niekros. He was asked about the best pitch he ever threw. He said it was the time a batter swung and missed at a pitch that ended up breaking behind him.

If you strike a soccer ball perfectly through the center it will knuckle. It bounces around like that and doesnt rotate much if at all.

Especially those damn Jabulanis. We used those for all our league play and they wreak havoc on you as a goalie.

I miss Ueck. Is he still calling any games?

I remember a game he called when a catcher got a foul tip right where catchers don't want a foul tip. His description of the whole experience had me falling out of my chair.

I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a pitching coach who would advocate more breaking stuff and fewer fastballs as a way to preserve your arm...

I heard him on Brewers broadcasts over XM this past season, and he still heads up the broadcast team per the Brewers' website.

He always joked about how he liked radio over TV. He could then call a lazy fly ball as, "It's back!!! Way, back!!! To the track, and he's OUT!!!" The radio listeners would never be the wiser.
