Just got this.
All,

Runway 6-24 will closed to all traffic beginning at 0700 lcl on Wednesday October 13, 2010 and remain closed until 1900 lcl Tuesday October 26, 2010. During this runway closure we will be removing 300 of runway from the southwest portion of the runway, adding 300 feet of runway to the northeast portion of the runway, installing all new runway lights, PAPI’s, REIL’s, relocating the MALSR, relocation the glide slope, removing all of the pavement markings and reinstalling them in their new locations and crack sealing. This is a very aggressive schedule, but once completed the runway will reopen in its new position for visual use only. Between October 26, 2010 and January 10, 2010 (closest publication date) the FAA will be installing testing and flight checking the equipment for the 6-24 approaches. As always please check the current NOTAM’s for MVY prior to flight.

Thank you all again for your cooperation and patience during this important safety project.

Boy, given the weather this time of year, that's an agressive schedule. Hope they get it done!

Yeah, I'm impressed! That's a lot of work for two weeks. They should send those guys down here to finish a few TXDOT road projects...

Sounds like MVY won't have instrument approaches available this winter, either.
