I am a flat-lander from the midwest. I am planning a flight to KLWB (Greenbrier Valley Airport, near Lewisberg, WV.) I checked the sectionals, and it doesn't look like the mountains are too high, or too close to the airport to make this a difficult flight. But I thought I would ask for help to confirm. Are any of you familiar with the airport, and the issues I need to be aware of? I am most concerned about the mountains, because my state is generally flat as a pancake, so I have no mountain experience at all. My trip won't be for close to a year, so I have some time to prepare.

Thanks.

I wouldn't worry overly much about it, there really isn't anything that threatening in WV. One of the POA fly-ins occurs at an airport in the Canaan Valley, the highest alpine valley in the Eastern United States. Just be aware that mountains make weather, which could be quite a bit worse in the hills than the surrounding flat lands.
