Like many GA airports, our local airport is under attack with the usual slanted and poorly worded survey, etc.

The City Council just disbanded the Airport Advisory Board, which had no power.

Thank you.

As a supporter of aviation, and former airshow volunteer (thank you!), we need 3 minutes of your time today!

The City of Longmont is currently seeking feedback on noise. The survey is weighted toward negative feedback. If we don't advocate for the value of this vital community asset, the conversation will be dominated by those seeking to eliminate it.

How You Can Help:
1. Take the 3 minute survey: bit.ly/lmosurvey
• You may remain anonymous.
• Every member of your household is eligible to submit a separate survey.
• If your neighborhood isn't listed, add yours or select one from the list.
• Please add your comments, keeping them respectful and pro-airport/aviation.

2. Register and Join The Virtual Meeting: bit.ly/airportlive
Register for the May 7th 6:00pm online town hall meeting to hear more and provide input.

Please share this with other aviation enthusiasts. Let's ensure the Longmont City Council hears a balanced perspective on Vance Brand Airport and aviation!

With thanks - Your Longmont Airport Community

Of course you don't live under the pattern.
Actually, I do live directly under the pattern. Planes on downwind cross directly over my house about 1/4 mile before turning base to Runway 29, the favored runway. It's beautiful to see them. Unfortunately, the excessively loud trucks, cars, and motorcycles usually drown out any airplane sounds. Forget about sleeping with the windows open at night.

So does anyone really think that rando's that don't live there will have any sway in the decision? If the survey is sane, the first question it will ask is for your address. If you don't live in the county, then end the survey.

I hope the airport stays open, but unless it has a significant economic impact (provable) then there is nothing to stop them from selling it to a developer and getting tax revenue.

Reality is a thing. CO has flipped over the last 15 years and its showing.

CO used to be pretty chill. Then half of California and a quarter of Texas decided to move there, drive the prices into the stratosphere, and begin systematically dismantling everything that was there when they arrived. I miss living there for sure, but it's definitely changing.

Regardless, buying/building next to an airport and then trying to shut the airport down is just a crappy thing to do. Regarding tax revenue, that fair enough. By that logic though, we should just pave over all the parks and put up high-rise housing, since those public parks full of screaming children sure as hell aren't paying for themselves.

AOPA is watching the GA die by 1000 cuts, and people keep watching their PR and paying their dues. Sad.

Did the Wright Brothers fly out of there?

Sadly ours are being taken over with kerosene burners.
