Suprised to not see any discussions here yet about the plans for the new sun n fun campus.
A few days ago I saw a direct link to this CGI rendering flyover, but can't find that link/page now. This story about it starting at about 6:22 is all I can come up with at the moment....
what are your thoughts?
Exciting for a refresh...It looks very nice IMO and I'm sure in many ways will be a very efficient layout.... and likely much better facilities for some aspects of the event. The runway and seaplane runway will be awesome and open up lots of great possibilities no doubt.
at the same time it strikes me that much of the charm of the event is in the tradition...the quirky layout that has evolved over many years
Since my last several visits to sun n fun have been by road in my motorhome, I'm tuned to the CG. The campground in this rendering seems to be a small fraction of the size they need.
I don't know...it all just seems too sterile or something. Surely they've had lots of brainstorming sessions over this to come up with a plan to improve everything that needs it...but I doubt that they've considered every angle....
Regardless, most of this is likely driven by the runway, and it necessetating a near total teardown and rebuild....
