I saw this car on Sunday and took a picture. I have no idea what it is. Sorry I only took one angle. It looked like a Cadillac in the back and like it's supposed to be a Rolls Royce in the front.

Anyone know what it really is or what it's supposed to be?

Those fiberglass conversion kits were popular in the 70's. I believe that is a Cadillac with the faux RR stuff on it. They were ugly then, and they're ugly now. Kind of like Superfly meets the Road Warrior. Get out your six inch lapels and purple hats!

I forget what that was called, but the "donor" car and drivetrain was a Mercury Cougar from the late 80s- you can see it in the windowline and the door handles. The wheelbase is stretched by moving the front suspension and steering forward. A real cluster of a car, you ask me (the Cougar of that era was a pretty good car, by the way).

It's worse than a Kit Car! It's a cheap imitation of a kit car, the Excalibur; this thing is the Tiffany Classic and was what a factory full of Cuban Mariellitos in Miami do to 80s vintage Mercury Cougars when you show them a picture of an Excalibur which was a kit off an old Mercedes Gazelle. It's pretty much a morphadite POS that they ruined any economy or anything the Cougar had going for it to begin with...gone.

What it's supposed to be? No. What it is? Yes. It's the embodiment of everything bad about the 1980s. The very soul of soullessness.

Interesting, all the information. I once had a Cadillac Del Caballero. It's been so long ago I don't remember its year; but it was an El Dorado that some custom shop in Detroit changed the front end to resemble a Rolls Royce. Too much chrome to polish. White, special top with a large, electric sun roof, white leather upholstery, and a 540hp(something like that) engine. A couple of my favorite gas stations I used -- the guys always joked about wanting to "check your trunk to see how many quarters are in there." Allegedly, the Detroit shop only made 30 of the conversions. I bought it from a funeral home which had used it as a flower car.
