KDTO: Near Miss between CareFligt helicopter and drone.

Once again, incorrect reporting on the 400ft rule. That only applies to RPA cert holders and not operators of aircraft under the model aircraft exemption rule. Now there's a 400ft rule within 3 miles of an airport but even then, the wording (AMA) allows it if airport management is notified.

Flew past a quadcopter a couple of years ago in the helicopter between 500-600 ft also. Didn't report it to the FAA. Proving that the "drone" interfered with my operation, would be next to impossible. Won't be long before there's a midair in the air ambulance community.
