Light single, need stay 10 days.
What to know?

FBO says no hangars; anyone going on vacation Sat+10d?

Is baz where the big pzzing match was years ago, if so, how did it end

Airport ran a lot of tenants out of town, and yes they're the fuel monopoly, that's how that ended. Some came from Boerne, others went to it. Arpt mgt wanted to make it into the jet reliever for KSAT, but the distance and the socioeconomics of SAT don't pencil out. The tower largely is subsidized by KRNDs T-6 traffic count, and the flight schools largely folded when the air force contract money ran out in the early 2020s, and the airport jacked up the rents.

I lost my footing in the place with the loss of my lawnmower in 2023. By the time I stage right, there were not allowing any more entrants into the waiting list; whereas there was one when I moved here, back in the pre-covid years of milk and honey. The place exploded pop wise in the past 5 years, but the airport has little to show for it imo. They went through a repaving effort for 12 months or so back.

10 days? I'd do KHYI if the attraction is NB proper, otherwise if the outing is closer to SAT centric, you might try SSF (in fairness can't speak to the hangar situation down there, maybe @TCABM knows).

For SSF, there’s ramp space and, there’s a half decent chance of a comunnity hangar slot, especially if you’re willing to pay $450 for a 10 day stay. Since we have two planes in one of the two community hangars, i can tell you the manager has space for a piston single and would prefer to have a ling term tenant, but the economics say he’d take a month’s rent and not ask any questions.

Also, depending on where in/around New Braunfels you really are going to and requirement for an approach procedure to be available opens some stuff up. The other option in SAT proper is at Kelly Field. Barrios Aviation on the west ramp may have a spot or know of a spot.
