Friends and family of
Karen Jean Duehr…
I wanted to let everyone know that we will be having a memorial and celebration of life for Karen soon.
Her passing being out of State added some formalities that delay things slightly and we are also working with close family on their availability for travel, etc.
I also understand a great many of her Sweet Adeline sisters … as I joked with one of her brothers… “They are coming and we can NOT stop them!” want to celebrate her life.
Of course I am joking a little here — but as a long time (long suffering? Haha!) Sweet Adeline Husband … I would want you there if you want to be there. I have felt the great outpouring of love from her singing sisters.
And I’ve already talked to two people who had no idea Sweet Adelines even existed who said “Oh my. Someone just told me she sang with them.”
As my old boss and good friend said … “The day I met the other three members of her quartet I knew these women were a force to be reconed with!”
Other family and friends… you’ll enjoy this. I promise. Hang on for the ride … you have NO idea…
Those calling worried about me … I’m ok. As ok as can be and surrounded by all of your love and care. Overwhelmed a little. But you all have been wonderful.
Her brother just send me this…
“It’s ok. Lots of plates to keep spinning right now!” It’s true.
For those I’ve talked to, thank you. For those I haven’t, thank you also. I’ll be in touch. I’m also taking time to mourn. And also to celebrate that she is with Jesus.
And yes … I’m eating. I promise!
