what is a good FBO in the Kansas City area to finish my PPL. I will be relocating to the area early June. Thanks for the future info.

There are a number of options. Which part of town? Which airport(s) will be closest?

I will be on the South side of town Kansas City Ka.

I will be on the South side of town Kansas City Ka.

These two things are inconsistent. Kansas City, Kansas is on the northern side of "town."

In any event, there are a few different options around town:

1) ATD at the Kansas City Downtown Airport (KMKC) - http://atdflightsystems.com/
2) McCullough Aviation at Kansas City Downtown - http://www.mcculloughaviation.com/
3) Air Associates at Johnson County Executive (KOJC) (nice big fleet, but probably the most expensive option in town)- http://www.airassociatesinc.com/
4) New Century Air Service at New Century airport (KIXD) (one of the least expensive options) - http://newcenturyairservice.com/
5) There was a flight school at the Gardner, Kansas airport (K34), but I'm not sure it's still operating. If it is, there's no website.

Thanks for the links great help. I suppose I should have stated Olathe/Overland Park. However I will be downtown working.

That my neck of the woods. Let me know when you get in.

Closest airports are OJC and IXD. Both have a couple FBOs and flight traing options. I rent from an FBO at IXD.

If you want to train at MKC (downtown), I can probably get some contacts for you.

The K34 flight school is closed, last I heard.

There are also a few flying clubs in the area. In no particular order:

Mitchell Flying Club (LXT) (172)
Cloud One Flying Club (MKC) (172/Arrow)
Flying Club of Kansas City (OJC) (172/182/Archer/Debonair)
Wing Flying Club (LXT) (Archer/Fixed Gear Saratoga)
Flying Gators (OJC) (150/Cherokee 180)
IXD Flyers (IXD) (Cessna 172/175/Diamond/Cirrus)
