I got a FedEx envelope tonight at home from Citi group, which holds the mortgage to my condo, so I opened it. It was a single sheet junk mail soliciting me for a mortgage! :dunno: I am pre-qualified UP TO $143,368.73  WOW!! First, I'm not interested in a mortgage, secondly I'm pretty sure I qualify for a lot more if I want it! :D
Just seems like an expensive way to send junk mail, I'm sure they get some type of bulk rate, $3-5.00 per envelope, but that's still awfully high to send junk! :dunno:

I get fedexed junk-mail all the time. By sending it with fedex, they increase the likelihood of the mark opening it.

Just another marketing tool,to suck in the unaware.

I doubt they pay even that. Did it actually come FedEx? I could see them using free FedEx envelopes and sending them USPS.

I've seen those, in this case the Fed Ex truck pulled up to the house and delivered it. I get stuff all the time that is supposed to look like it's Fed Ex or "Express Mail", but the fact that it was an real Fed Ex is what threw me off. :dunno:
I got a small box delivered to my office a year or two ago, it was the color of a Tiffany jewelry box and it contained 100 brand new dollar bills!! It was from a company called Eagle financial services. It was a gift to get me to talk to them about their services, I didn't talk to them, but I gave the money to my nieces! :D

In what way would a "financial services" company think they are going to impress me to do business with them by throwing away money?:dunno::lol: "Hmm, these guys are idiots and throw money away, yeah, I think I stick my money there."

I recall hearing a story about investment solicitations being routinely send via FedEx... The primary reason being so that the solicitor could not be accused of violating Federal mail fraud statutes.

There is something called "Parcel Select" in which USPS does the "last-mile" delivery for FedEx and other carriers. I suspect that's how the junk mail was sent in this case because it's a lot less expensive but gets the recipient's attention.

Most shippers of this sort of junk mail (pre-approved loans, credit cards, etc.) include a postpaid response envelope, or sometimes a postpaid label for responses that would necessarily include a lot of documents. I gleefully send these back to the senders filled with whatever other weighty junk mail or other unneeded, non-sensitive paper I have on hand and send it back to them. (Old holiday cards are great for this.)

Sometimes junk mail senders' efforts to make their mailings stand out can seriously backfire on them. Back in the early 1980's, when I was an operations manager for a company in New Jersey, I received a notice of an undelivered certified mail letter that had been left at a warehouse where we leased some space, but only visited a few time a week. The rest of the time there was no one from our company there.

Because the letter came certified mail, because no one from our company was present when it arrived, and because the manager for the company that owned the warehouse refused to accept it, I had to make a trip to the Post Office to collect and sign for the mail. That was a burden in that community because of the traffic and the limited parking. It took me well over an hour.

When I finally collected the mail, I found that it contained an offer from a company that did printing and book binding. They wanted to bind one of our training manuals at a deep discount to introduce us to their services. They even enclosed a post-paid label that we could use to send them the manuscript so they could bind it. (This was back in the days before everything was digitized and emailed.)

I was so annoyed that I went back to the office, wrapped a cinder block from an ongoing construction project in brown paper, stuck the postpaid label to it, and mailed it back to them.

They have called a couple times, but I really don't have any reason to talk with them. I have a 2 boats and 2 airplanes, that eliminates pretty much any extra money to throw their way!!:rofl:
