I missed the show these last few years. I was there in '89 and '90 I think... I'll have to check my book to be sure. I was on the airshow side, doing the B-1 demo.
Back then it was the "Chicago Air and Water Show", and Miegs was still open and where most of the aircraft staged, except us, we went north to the Navy Base, but was helicoptered back and forth from Meigs.
