Ok, so I joined EAA. Now what do I do to start making the investment pay off?

Where are you located? Is there an active EAA Chapter close to your location? Why did you join?

Get involved with a local chapter,do young Eagles,a great way to give back, volunteer at sun n fun ,or osh. Get involved with your local chapter, attend meetings. You can go as far as you want with the EAA.

Strap a J-94 on a J-3, put an"Experimental" stencil and an EAA sticker on it and have fun.

Troll Alert!

Investment in Joining EAA? C'mon.

I support EAA and AOPA. They both provide interesting magazines with articles and advertisements that are relevant to my flying hobby. They also both advocate for us in local and regional affairs.

Can't say I'm 100% aligned with either group, but I'm happy that there is advocacy for GA and Homebuilders.

Each is less than a tank of 100LL per year... not much of an "investment"

I was going to point out his best return on investment was likely to be to cancel his membership :)

Call and get your money back :lol:

I kid, I kid. Unless you are building a plane I would say your most rewarding time would be doing young eagle flights.

Saw a guy at the coffee shop today wearing a T-shirt with the words AIRPLANE BUILDER on the back. So naturally, as the wife of the local EAA chapter president, I sallied forth to engage him about possible membership. Turns out he inherited the T-shirt and has nothing whatsoever to do with planes. But he says that whenever he wears the shirt, at least two or three people approach him to talk about flying. You'd think he'd get tired of that.
