Cleared for Takeoff
Just to let the aerobatic community know we have had a couple accidents, one being fatal. John Klatt had a control service failure at this past weekends Battle Creek airshow. He was able to get the plane down and survive the accident although I am told there was substantial damage to the plane. On a more unfortunate note, Seamus McCaughley was killed when his Cessna 180 crashed in socal. It is reported that the engine failed on takeoff and he struck power lines. That has not been determined as fact at this point. Seamus performed in a gorgeous blue Christian Eagle and was a very nice guy, and a fantastic pilot. Blue skies.
