Following my visit to OSH this year and my first ever sit down in a Pilatus pc-12, I found myself surfing the net for plane porn of this most excellent aircraft. Imagine my surprise to find a picture of my muse Jimmy Buffett landing his new Pilatus in St. Barth, which is like a double down on my bucket list.

Nice, one of the toughest airports anywhere to land, would love to land there!

Nice bar - hamburger shack there called Le Select which he based "cheeseburger in paradise" on.

Great place!

Oh brings back fond memories of sitting on corner at Le Select sipping local brew watching the beautiful French women walk by!

Then I got married, had kids and travel to OSH for vacation now!:mad2:

Wouldn't trade what I got for anything in the world for what I have now, but what I cool place for a young man in his 20's at the time. (Disclaimer in case wife reads)

Key West is decent to visit for a man in his 30s+ You still get the caribbean vibe, celebrities, all the cheeseburgers in paradise you can eat, as well as all the nudity you can handle from the homeless people that are 50+. The tourist see the locals and feel its time for them to be "free" as well. Plus you don't have to travel as far to St. Barths :)

Shameless plug for you guys to all come visit.

His autobiography has a lot of flying stories. Flying his Albatross around South America surfing and fishing. then sending for his family in the jet...

Saw a buffett show a few years ago in MA and that was a lot of fun. Tailgating and watching what people came to tailgate with was even better; their own beach, massive tiki huts and the best was a swimming pool in the bed of a pickup truck. Parrotheads unite!

When I feel the need to back in the keys, I check out the hog cams @ hogsbreath saloon. They still have all the crazy acts on Mallory square?

Oh great… yet another reason to hate that guy

(“Hate” as in so green with envy hate)

For several years in a row, I used to go down to Las Vegas for his concerts.

They made great “dates” in between marriages, and wound up marrying the last one

Surprisingly… there were a lot of us who flew in for them.

Sunday morning at North Las Vegas Airport would find many of us in Hawaiian shirts and other memorabilia loading up our airplanes and heading home.

His fan base includes people who can probably just barely afford the tickets, as well as fans flying some very serious iron

I need to either see him locally, or spend three days coming down to one somewhere else :D

Not to hijack but he's no dummy either. The "island bum" image probably goes away in boardrooms. I wouldn't want to cross him in a business deal. Dude makes money when he farts. :)

I have heard that his relative, Warren Buffett says that Jimmy is a really savvy investor.

We flew down in the CJ for Fantasy Fest a couple of years ago... It is/was an interesting evening to say the least... But, nothing like the
flagpole at the Sebring 12 hours race back in the mid 70's... That was outright insane..:yikes::redface::yes:

Those are here frequently and go inside the hangar quickly as well. They taxi up to the hangar then "coast" inside. Hangar doors are on remote, so not even the line guys know who is/isn't on the plane.
