Paul Kanter, 74, passed. Founder of Jefferson Airplane and succeeding group Jefferson Starship.
 
Damn...that just sucks. Great early Rickenbacker 12 string player. Will be missed.
 
Holy crap, I was just watching some of the old stuff on YT he other day.
 
Bummer. I grew up in San Francisco and worked at Haight and Stanyan Streets during the early seventies. The band owned a mansion a few blocks from where I worked by Golden Gate Park. One day, I was walking my dog in the park and came across Paul Kantner. He was beside his parked Porsche 911 in the process of spray painting it flat black. Those were the days....RIP Paul

Now Signe Anderson, also 74, dies on the same day as Kantner! She was the original singer and on their first album. Article said Grace Slick replaced her, and that she had been ill for awhile.
 
Good grief. Definitely time to find some new bands to love that have members that aren't keeling over dead every month.
