Vectored thrust can make some interesting things happen IRL though. The maneuver may not necessarilly be impossible given enough thrust and an upward trajectory when you spun the nozzle.

Saw the F-22's doing something very similar at OSH a few years ago (before they had an 'official' air show demo sequence to do).

Whether they can do that in real life is immaterial... NO Captain is going to allow that to happen over the deck of his carrier...
