I'm no plant expert but allow me to chime in.
I don't know.

it looks like a leafy green substance...

Karen, who went to horticultural school, took one look and said...

"That's NOT poison ivy!"

I did not even know that was the question.

Was it? :dunno:

yes, that was the question. PI being Poison Ivy, as Karen clearly knew. thx.

mmmm PI....wtf are those leaves? That ain't PIE or PI, or PYE.

...Nice rosebush

^^^^^^

That plant's leaves are quite serrated. PI leaves have very few, if any, teeth. Also all three PI leaves are on stems. That plant's two opposite leaves have no stems. At least around here...there are lots of variables from coast to coast.

My wife, a former master gardener, and her sister (also a plant guru) guess is wild strawberry. She says the way to tell is to look at the stem down near the root it should be a pinkish red color.

Not PI looks like wild strawberry
Agree, that was my first impression. SE Michigan meadows and woods are full of the stuff so I've seen a lot of it.

But I wouldn't venture to say for sure from a photograph, other than that it's not poison ivy.

Poison ivy vines generally look quite fuzzy or hairy. These are smooth.

"Pi" is a mathematical construct generally accepted to be 3.1415927, which is accurate for most applications.

Back on March 14, Pi(e) day, my wife made this, and it was good!

Definitely looks like you could get a rash from her.

I don't know what it is. I do know that it's not poison ivy, and I don't think it's strawberries. Strawberry leaflets converge at the basal end.

Google says this is the difference between wild strawberries and PI:

Rich made a good observation about the leaves in the original picture. They look different from strawberry.
