I think it is, but I'm far from a botanist. I'd like to properly label it for upload.("Pretty orange flower" seems kind of lame.)

Help from flower experts requested and appreciated.

Thanks,

-Rich

Re: Is This an Orange Gerbera Daisy?

Sure looks like an Orange Gerbera Daisy to me but, like you, I'm no botanist.

(Note the corrected spelling. You had a typo in the title, but the caption on the pictures was spelled correctly.)

I came in this thread thinking "what type of aircraft is a Berbera Daisy?"

Looks like a rotary wing to me. :yesnod:

Thanks for that, and the correction as well.

I think the technical name for that is: Flower: (flow·er / ˈflouər) The seed-bearing part of a plant, consisting of reproductive organs (stamens and carpels) that are typically surrounded by a brightly colored corolla (petals) and a green calyx (sepals)

Sorry to get so technical. It was my major in high school. : )

It has to do with the "G" and "B" keys being so close to each other, I think, because I did get the spelling right on the metadata for the images (figuring I could always change it if need be).

I looked at that image you posted, and others, but there are differences between various flowers who all claim to be Orange Gerbera Daisies (for example, the coloring at the center of the flower). Not knowing whether these were intraspecial variations, developmental stage differences, or a mis-identification on my part, I decided to ask here. (Why not a botany board? Because I don't belong to any.)

In any event, this was a case of my coming across the flowers and saying, "Ooooh, what pretty flowers. I think I shall photograph them," but not wanting to look like a complete moron (as opposed to an incomplete moron) by uploading a flower whose name I knew not.

Here are better versions, by the way:
