iphone vs ipad - FF radar dl speeds

My ipad2 will download radar images onto the nav maps pretty efficiently but not at all on the iphone4.
Have good wifi on the phone, doesn't matter if cell data for FF is on or off.

Same with Satellite.
newest OS on both devices, latest FF updates.

You probably need an iPhone 5. "Upgrade" is always the first response!

I have the same issue and wrote to FF a couple of weeks ago. They replied that it's a known bug and they're working on a fix for it.
