Got a new iPhone 6plus and can't seem to access forums without having to enter username and password every time. Any suggestions on a setting to correct this issue?

My 6+ doesn't do that either. Maybe hop on the Apple support forums?

You're just using SAFARI and not something like "tapatalk" The "Remember Me" feature of vBulletin needs to place a cookie. Make sure you've not disabled that.

Go to the SETTINGS app, scroll down to SAFARI, and check the "Block Cookies" settings.
Make sure it is neither ALWAYS BLOCK nor ALLOW FROM CURRENT SITES. Any of the other settings should work fine.

For the most part mine keeps me logged into sites even after restarts, as long as I've chosen that option during the login procedure in the first place.

Once in a great while, some sites will ask for me to log in again - can't discern a pattern, though it seems to happen the most with SportPilotTalk.com.

BTW, I often hate mobile interfaces - the 6+ is large enough that they're often not necessary or helpful. Many have a button somewhere that allows "Full Version" or "Desktop" that gives you the full version.

This, and select cookies "from sites I visit". You can always go back to that same page and clear your history and cookies if you prefer to do that sort of thing.

That worked!

I use the six plus with safari with no problems.

When wanting the desktop site, click on the URL field (as if you were going to edit it), when the "favorites" icons come up, drag them down. An option called "request desktop site" will appear.

I've tried to use this trick on various web sites, but usually still get the mobile site. It's especially frustrating when the site doesn't provide a link to the desktop site, and the mobile site itself is crippled. I have no idea how the "Request Desktop Site" function actually works, or why it doesn't seem to work reliably for me.

The site has to support it.

If they have a different URL for the mobile site, it may not work. If it's the same URL and looks at what browser the client is using to make the determination, it should work.

YMMV

Eh? It should work (presuming you have ios8) and it has nothing to do with the site. What this option does is tell Safari to change the reported "user agent" to indicate it's not mobile. The one thing I can think would mess this up is the redirection done AFTER you log in. Try logging in (with the "remember me") and then doing the "Request Desktop Site" hack.

I'm not talking about this site in particular, but I've encountered many other sites where this does not work. I suspected that Safari was changing the user agent and perhaps there was a redirection or some other cause for the affected sites to switch back to mobile, but it's annoying when it happens. Too bad the user agent change doesn't provide some persistence so that redirects won't result in a reversion to the mobile site.

Even if you get a non-mobile page to load correctly, clicking on a link usually results in redirection to a mobile page. There doesn't appear to be any persistence with the user-agent change. As a result, I've found the "Request Desktop Site" capability to be only marginally useful at best. If I'm doing something wrong, I'd love to know what it is.

The real problem is that many mobile sites leave a lot to be desired. If the content was the same and the design done well, I suspect there would be less of a need to load the desktop site in the first place.

OK, I just checked it. This site doesn't appear to have a "mobile" mode. What you are apparently seeing is the fact that the vBulletin is sizing things to the browser window size. No way around that as near as I know.

Again, no issues from me with this site. The issue is with sites with mobile versions which seem intent on detecting and forcing the mobile user into the mobile site.
