I have one of the large iPad Pros (12.9 in) that I can mount on the passenger side panel for navigation. Since I have a smaller iPad on a kneeboard for inflight use, I don't need for it to move, rotate, etc.

There are any number of RAM holders, but all have a stand off from the panel for the ball and connecting arms.

What other methods of mounting are available?

What has worked for you?

Am I missing something?

I used a RAM EZ-Roll'r bolted directly to the panel. Without the ball it sticks out 1/2" max. Don't see why you couldn't grind down the back to make it sit flush.

They have suction mounts and also clamp mounts. Suction mounts work surprisingly well as i have a ipad pro also and a ram suction mount. It does not vibrate and works very well

The only issue is that in the window the sun can heat it up and it can/will overheat.
