IO550 Continental Engine

How many different part # cylinders are there for this engine?
Are they interchangeable?

If there is a choice which is best?

According to my Continental parts list there are four different cylinder configuration depending on which engine suffix you have.

A,B,C
D,E,F,L
N,P,R
and then all the G series.

Within each group you can either have steel or nic3.
