Io-470-k debonair upgrade

i just purchased a debonair with an up-470-k (225 hp). 1400hrs) I also already have an io-470-f (260 hp) 1300 hrs. Ultimately I would like to do the 260hp upgrade to the debonair which I believe makes it an -n model (260hp).

My idea is to leave the "k" model on the airframe and fly it while I turn the "f" model into an overhauled unit ready for install with an etc as an "n" model....

Anyone have experience with these options?

Need to ask that one over on beech talk. If the mod has been done before, someone over there likely did it.
