I owned a Mooney TLS Bravo for 3 years in 2005-2007.
2008? Well, you can guess what happened financially.

Back in the game now and looking at a Mooney Ovation 2 vs. a Commander 115. I rented a Commander 114 once and loved the spaciousness and trailing link gear.

I'm keen on a Mooney Ovation 2 with G1000 Nxi but also looking at a Super Commander 115 with a 530/430 Garmin stack (like my old Mooney) and considering a possible upgrade to something "similar" to the G1000 nxi.

Avionics Question:
Is a G500 txi comparable to the G1000 nxi? (ignore the cost for a moment. I am trying to discern features like coupled approaches, holds, etc.)

Simple answer, a G500txi plus a GTN750/650 and a digital AP are equivalent. Will fly fully coupled approaches, automated olds, VNAV etc. The other benefit is they are fully upgradeable vs. the G1000 which requires both Garmin and Mooney to approve new firmware.

Welcome to the forum. I’d go with the garmin g 500txi. The g1000 is becoming old school avionics.
