[Interesting Tech] See Through 18-wheeler

Yeah, saw that, I think it's a great idea, especially on 2 lane roads. Now if we could get truckers to quit pulling into the left lane as they come to an uphill grade so they can have a 50mph "elephant race" all the way up a mountain in a 75 zone....:mad2:

A driver in front of me a couple weeks ago probably would have liked that.....he was behind a semi entering a sweeping right hand curve with a passing zone but he couldn't see what I could as he pulled out to pass, an approaching car....I'm sure he didn't see the car until he was well committedto making the pass....two cars and a semi managed nearly to get three wide on that road. Boy was I happy not see a head-on with all traffic running about 70

Great idea until the truck drivers and/or companies decide to start charging for advertising space on this new rolling video screen to supplement their income.

I was thinking that. Google will probably buy it and start running ads for roadside greasy spoons.

Until then, however, I think it's a good idea. It should also get some nice footage of suicidal deer.

Where is the camera located? Seems to be a good idea until crappy weather hits, or some mud or something like that gets on the camera lens.

I can maybe see the big trucking companies doing this, but I see it as too expensive for the Mom-n-Pop truckers.

I would not be surprised if Samsung gave them away for free. Put an illuminated Samsung logo on the top or bottom of the frame and it's outstanding, attention-getting, yet tasteful and non-annoying advertising.

It looks like synthetic vision on a big PFD. Just need to add a speed tape, etc.
