The original "I don't know it all" of aviation.
Since I'm going to ScottD's seminar this week, I've been pulling the weather briefs from his site more frequently.

Here's an interesting Area Forecast Discussion from just a few moments ago. Bold face is my added emphasis. KDFW and KFTW are less than 15 statute miles from one another. And fun to see a weatherman use the word "tricky" in his forecast.

Current METAR is 021553Z 07009KT 10SM SCT016 OVC022 14/12 A3000 RMK AO2 SLP153 T01390117 And we have light rain at the salvage yard.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORT WORTH TX

.AVIATION...
TRICKY FORECAST TODAY PARTICULARLY WITH THE WIND DIRECTION.
SURFACE BOUNDARY CURRENTLY VERY NEAR THE METROPLEX...BOUNDARY IS
SNAKING BETWEEN DALLAS AND FORT WORTH FROM JUST NORTH OF KDFW TO
JUST SOUTH OF KFTW. AS SUCH THE WINDS AT KFTW ARE NORTHERLY AND
THE WINDS AT KDFW ARE SOUTHERLY
. UPDATED KFTW AND KAFW TAFS TO
REFLECT NORTHERLY WINDS IN THE SHORT TERM. WIND DIRECTION AT KDFW
MAY BE VARIABLE OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS AS THE BOUNDARY COULD
POTENTIALLY SAG SOUTHWARD. ALSO LEFTOVER TSRA TO THE WEST COULD
RESULT IN OUTFLOW WINDS. LOW CONFIDENCE FORECAST IN THE WIND
DIRECTION AT THIS TIME.

I'm really looking forward to Scott's event so I can improve my weather education.
