I wanted to see if anyone knew of a good insurance company or agent to work with for my plane? The insurance agent that where I bought my plane from got me a policy but wow is it expensive and limiting. In fact, so limiting, I am not really even insured according to the restrictions. So basically, I'm paying $12K for an insurance policy that does not even cover me. I thought I better look to see if there is an alternate insurance company or policy that is more affordable and would at least over me!!!

Need some more info, what type of plane are you flying.? Can we assume you have no ratings?

No ratings. Working on PPL and am close to check ride. It is a T206H so there is high performance factor

Eeeeep!
Yes, a T206H with a "no-hour pilot" would be tough to insure.
It might be almost cheaper to buy an old 150 to train in for $400 in annual insurance. :)

Bill White insurance in Corona, CA. Aviation-only agency, they did both my dad and myself as students. Albeit not in 206's...

I started in a guy a U206 a few years ago (not his airplane), the insurance was very expensive (I think it was about a $2000 addition to the owners insurance) and was essentially you can take lessons and then we will interview the flight instructor when you are ready to solo to determine how much more expensive it will be. We completed just about all the dual requirements and he stopped flying, not sure why, but I don't think it was the insurance.

Essentially the insurance company would rather you got your private rating in something else. And it might be cheaper to rent something else to get your rating.

Call TJ @ Airpower Insurance in Phoenix. He represents several markets and will work hard for you.

All all costs, avoid insurance through APOA. They are expensive and depressing service levels. I was with APOA before and didn't realize how bad they were until I switched.

Good luck.
