Those of you who live at an airpark. or own your own hangar, who writes your insurance?
Right now we use Farm Bureau. I'm at an airpark in AZ and found that insurers didn't like manufactured houses or hangars. USAA wouldn't touch it.

I really would like to find another insurance company if possible. any suggestion?

I got State Farm. I rent the hangar out so it's a commercial policy. I shopped around and they had the best price for me, but I have other policies with them which makes a difference.

On both properties the hangar is separate.
When we first moved to the Airpark we had USAA. However they call the hangar an outbuilding and declared the replacement cost at 40K. I doubt if 40K would cover 30% of a new hangar.

In that case, you'd probably just have to add a rider to get full-coverage on it above what the outbuilding is valued at. Although, I would think $40K ought to cover the structure of any metal pole barn/hangar under 40x60 or so. I know our 30x50 with concrete and 12x50 lean-to wasn't more than about $30K tops.

so the op needs to call it a detached garage or appurtenant structure .some young non-educated underwriter does not understand that there is a separate and very clear exclusion for any incurred LIABILITY as in bodily injury or property damage for anything related to aircraft. all you want to insure is the building for its destruction or damage ex/fire.also the incurred non related to aircraft liability as stated above aka,BI and PD.
ask your neighbors who they use. Hartford will do it. as a aside cars erupt in flames in garages every week remember the ford ignition switch mess ,never have heard of a aircraft doing this .i guess all cars should have a master switch. also the 2 cars in my garage carry more fuel than my aircraft.
