Instrument Procedures Handbook PDF - some graphics trouble rendering "fl" or "fi" or "ff"

I downloaded the IPH from the FAA website on both my phone and my windows computer. Both of them have several graphics where the letter combination fl, fi or ff have blank spaces instead of the letters. Has anyone else noticed?

I've had that problem with some PDF viewers when copying ligatures to the clipboard. They would display correctly on the screen but just wouldn't end up on the clipboard. My advice is to try different PDF viewers, but my ultimate solution was to regenerate the PDF with some special option that fixed the ligatures (since I had access to the original source document). Or do a Google search along the lines of "PDF doesn't display ligatures" and you'll probably find something.
