I've had my PPL for about 8 years, but I haven't done much flying in the past 4 years. I moved to the Northern Virginia area (Burke) from NJ in the fall of 2015 but I haven't flown since I've been here.

I'd like to take a stepped approach to get back into flying:

1) Just go up with someone to get back into a small airplane, get to know the airspace, etc.
2) Get my flight review done, including as much instruction as needed to get me safe and familiar with the area
3) Start on my IFR rating
4) Hopefully own a plane (likely 180hp fixed gear single) in the next 12-18 months.

Can someone recommend an instructor, either independent or affiliated with a school? Ideally based at KHEF since it is most convenient to me and where I would hope to be based. I have already taken the SFRA course and have a current 3rd class medical.

I'll likely be crossposting this to the red and purple boards.
