We took a which trip in the 10 to Kansas City (shake down cruise after the over voltage incident) and hear the controller on the recorded ATIS in Lincoln use the term "Frosty" instead of "Foxtrot". I'm like having a heart attack! Cats and dogs sleeping togeather, that kind of thing. Then my wife had to remind me it was Christmas.

Have you heard any holiday festive controller talk?

Whenever I've flown around Christmas, the controllers have often signed off with "Merry Christmas." And if they haven't, I have. I hear very few "Happy Holidays," which makes me happy as a non politically correct individual.

Sure, lots of times over the years, I've had them tell jokes as well.

The whole NORAD Santa Tracker thing got started because a Colonel had a sense of humor when a typo in the local newspaper gave the Air Defense Comand 'red phone' number as the Santa hot line so he had the phones staffed with Airmen as Santa's Helpers.

Google "Information Bubba" sometime and listen to the recording.

It amazes me that with all the banning of nativity scenes on government property and the like, that some overzealous bureaucratic wonk somewhere hasn't issued a decree to controllers that they may not say such "offensive" things on the government issued radios. ;)

(I know. I really shouldn't give the idiots any ideas...)

I've heard that around Lincoln for a long long time. At Thanksgiving
it's "Turkey" ... "Cranberry" .. etc. Pretty cool.

RT

I have heard "Information Fudge" "Dressing" "Turkey" "Punkin Pie" "Cranberry" "Rudolph"

My favorite was "Information Grinch" And it was Info Grinch all day. The story behind that one was the contract tower guys were told not to use cute Christmas words on the radio.
