Tomorrow i am taking my family up in the new family 182. Wife and 10 year old son will do great since he is completely ate up with flying. My 8 year old girl should do fine and she is quite excited. Weather looks good around Tulsa tomorrow so should be perfect.

I'm looking for good place for breakfast that is maybe 1 - 1.5 hour flight. I'm familiar with Ponca city although not sure about a Sunday. Leaning towards k81 Miami county airport which was great place and we have stopped there driving to Kansas city multiple time for breakfast and barbecue.

Is Ardmore still decent place, seems like they had nice place 10 years ago but so much has changed.

Any words of wisdom??

Thanks

You would enjoy Cedar Mills Marina at the west end of Texoma. Nice 3k grass, well maintained, good restaurant. There's plenty of room between the big tree and the woods by the lake, so don't worry about the need for short appproach or performance climb on departure.

Any issues with my wheel pants?

Coming home from colorado after interview yesterday, actually sitting in Denver now. I wonder if the rain that hit Tulsa some last night got that area?

Dunno. Checked the radar a few times last night to see when the cool front might pass through Dallas, but didn't see any big lines. The runway is well-crowned and drains quickly. I've been there in the 180 when it's pretty soppy with no problem. I later pulled the pants to see how much mud and gunk had collected there, found very little.

If you decide to try it now or in the future, the wet spots will be on the edge of the runway. To avoid them, taxi on the centerline and park west of the tiedowns in front of the cedar trees. It provides a nice level area that stays drier than most others.
Good to know I will take a look at it while I wait here.
Thanks

Where in Denver right now?

Sitting at DIA, United delayed my flight from Tulsa Thursday to where I couldn't catch my connecting so had to pay another $300 dollar for Southwest ticket to get to Denver. On way home now. Caught 615 flight from HDN for 3 and half hour layover until I leave for Tulsa.

If not for a job interview I would have made the inaugural trip in the 182 but there was also a cold front pushing through and my lack of mountain flying persuaded me to do the right thing and fly commercial

Pretty frustrating with a capable machine sitting at home while I sit here in this airport.

KADM is great, that's my airport. Depending on what time I get home tommorrow I may be there to welcome you. I'll be flying my 235.

I operated from KC for almost 30 years and 10k hours and finally came to the conclusion that when I couldn't go the airlines were no help and vice versa. Travel is an inconvenience no matter how it's sliced and served.

I think there is good chance we will head to the southern part of Oklahoma. Mostly since we all stayed up late tonight so looking for lunch now.
