I've been a Diet Coke fan for years. The other day the machine was out of DC so I opted for a Diet Pepsi and was surprised how much more I liked it. Less bite.

I still like a regula Coke a couple of times a year straight from a glass bottle. Kind of like a good sipping whiskey.

Lately I have been all about the maker's mark old fashioned. Can't get a good one unless I am at a high end restaurant. Either it's all simple syrup or is poorly made.

Vernor's is great stuff! Just don't inhale as you get ready to sip. There's enough ginger coming off that stuff to cause a coughing fit for me every time I forget.

There used to be a Vernor's store in Orlando (early 70's). They sold it from the tap and you could get it by the gallon in plastic kegs. They also would mix soft serve vanilla ice cream into it. Yum!
